Even though Alec Baldwin has been vocal about getting his game of Words With Friends interrupted by flight attendants, he has not been very vocal about whether he’s coming back to “30 Rock” after this season. But, according to NBC Entertainment honcho Bob Greenblatt, Baldwin will be back for the show’s 7th season.
He mentioned to a group of reporters after his TCA press conference that the network locked Baldwin up for next season sometime during the fall, and that they’ve kept that detail under their hats since then.
“He’s loud about certain things and quiet about others,” joked Greenblatt.
He didn’t say whether the show will actually be back for a 7th season; it’s a decision he’ll make closer to the network’s spring upfront presentation to advertisers. But having the show’s star locked up makes a renewal likely.
It’s unusual, of course, that Baldwin is quiet about anything. But maybe we now know the reason why the politically-outspoken star recently mentioned that he won’t run for mayor of New York, at least not in 2013. He’ll be too busy playing Jack Donaghy to run a campaign.
