Harry Connick Jr. has booked a four-episode guest arc on “Law & Order: SVU,” NBC president Bob Greenblatt announced at the Television Critics Association Press Tour in Pasadena on Friday. Connick will play a new assistant district attorney and love interest for Mariska Hargitay’s Detective Benson.
“I get to talk like an educated person,” Connick joked of the role in a pre-taped segment.
Just how close will the crooner and Benson get? Let’s just say the two will share some major face time – in the form of a steamy scene previewed by Greenblatt.
As for concerns that Hargitay could be on her way out of the long-running procedural, the Emmy winner laid them to rest. “I can’t leave this show,” Hargitay said during the video piece. “I’m having too much fun!”
