“Hawaii Five-0” has been spending this season bringing in great guest stars, including Ed Asner and Terry O’Quinn. But this tweet from the CBS folks has even us shocked; it announces that James Caan will join his son Scott Caan on the show in February.

No word on what role the elder Caan will play, but wouldn’t it be interesting if he plays the father to Scott’s character Dano? The two have rarely if ever acted together, so it’ll be interesting to see the two high-intensity actors bounce off each other in a scene.

This isn’t James Caan’s first TV rodeo, of course; he spent four seasons on the NBC series “Las Vegas,” and he’s guested in other series. But the appearance with his son will be one to watch.
