UPDATED: ABC has revealed that Emily Maynard is the next “Bachelorette.” The ex-“Bachelor” finalist will be on the hunt for love when “The Bachelorette” returns this spring and is the first single mother to be cast on the show.
“I think she’s America’s sweetheart, and I think it will be a home run,” host Chris Harrison said on “GMA” on Tuesday.
PREVIOUSLY: Looks like Emily Maynard doesn’t have the honky-tonk post-Brad Womack blues anymore. Why? Because according to a new report, she’s the new “Bachelorette”!
Multiple insiders confirm to Us Weekly that the 25-year-old North Cackey-lackey native is giving reality TV love a second chance as the show’s eighth season “IT” girl.
“She’s looking for a man—not a little boy,” says one of Em’s friends.
But things will be a little different considering Emily’s parental responsibilities to lil daughter Ricki. Filming starts in March, but instead of the setting taking place at the famous L.A. mansion, the cast and crew will re-locate to Emily’s home state.
“The guys will be flying to her. We’re switching things up a bit,” reveals an insider.
Emily got engaged to “Bachelor” Womack in March 2011, but their relationship fizzled faster than you could say Brad’s favorite phrase, “My Gawwhd!”
In a follow-up interview right after the couple’s split, a teary-eyed Em confessed to “Bachelor Priest” Chris Harrison: “I wanted to be married and have more children, but I doubted he was going to still want to be with me. As a single mom, I don’t have the luxury of saying ‘we’ll figure it out when we get there.’ I need that reassurance that he’d want to be with me six weeks down the road much less six years.”
