In his 2010 book, “Gunn’s Golden Rules,” Tim Gunn wrote that he’d been celibate for “decades.” On Tuesday’s episode of “The Revolution,” the private “Project Runway” mentor revealed just how long it’s actually been.
“I haven’t had sex in 29 years,” Gunn revealed during a segment devoted to how to spice up your sex life. “Do I feel like less of a person because of it? No! Not even remotely,” he added.
When pressed for further details behind his long-term dry spell, the openly gay fashion expert became visibly emotional, citing an “intense” critique from a former partner as the reason he gave up sex. “He was impatient with my sexual performance,” Gunn said, adding that the time frame was “around the cusp of AIDS.”
Gunn went on to say that “a lot of people retreated, concerned about their health. I know I certainly was. I’m happy to be healthy and alive, quite frankly.” Now, he says “I’m a perfectly fulfilled person.”
