This morning, “Glee” fans are hoping that producer Ryan Murphy is an avid reader of The Hollywood Reporter’s website, because the site has a report that “American Idol” favorite Adam Lambert really, really, really wants to be offered a guest shot on the popular FOX musical dramedy.
Lambert actually wasn’t a fan of the show at first, but he told THR that he’s since become a big follower, because “I do think the show has an agenda, but I respect the agenda. I think it’s a very brave agenda to try to push.”
If he were asked to be on the show he calls “irresistible” and “charming,” he knows exactly who he would play. “I want to just be me. Why do I have to be a fictional character?”
Lambert would be a good fit on the show, given how he’s made outward changes to his image since his “Idol” days, including publicly announcing he was gay shortly after he finished his run on the FOX talent juggernaut. He fits right in with the inclusive vibe the show tries to promote. And since he’ll have a new album out, he figures now is a good time to promote it to a “Glee” audience that’s pretty much in his wheelhouse.
The only question we have is how Lambert would find himself in Lima, Ohio and at McKinley High. Mall tour, perhaps?
While Murphy and company try to figure that out, take a look at a preview from “Glee’s” upcoming Michael Jackson episode:
