Imagine a world where Meredith Grey wears pink and Christina Yang uses a flat iron. That’s the hilarious premise of this week’s fantasy episode of “Grey’s Anatomy.” Up late with Zola, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) imagines that if a single aspect of her past were changed, her entire present would be different. Meredith has apparently been reading The Butterfly Effect. Then she imagines the happy rainbow unicorn version of Seattle Grace.
It’s a world where Chief Weber (James Pickens Jr.) and Ellis Grey (Kate Burton) left their spouses and married each other, a decision which magically cured Ellis of Alzheimers. She’s the Chief of Surgery, and she runs a much tighter ship, where doctors wear white coats and ties instead of scrubs. The dress code saved Derek (Patrick Dempsey) and Addison’s (Kate Walsh) marriage. Meredith is a preppy who loves living with her Mom and Stepfather. Even more shockingly, she is engaged to Alex (Justin Chambers), who sports Clark Kent glasses. Hey, being nearsighted is a small price to pay for true love.
