Upcoming “Bachelorette” star Emily Maynard may be used to the cameras as a veteran of reality programs, but when it comes to being the focus of the show, she says she is “scared to death.”
People magazine interviewed Maynard, a month before she is scheduled to begin shooting the new season of the reality dating show.
“It really hasn’t hit me, what I’ve signed on to do,” she tells the outlet. “I’m scared to death.”
Maynard, who “won” her season of the show when “The Bachelor” Brad Womack proposed, formally ended their engagement last June. At the time, she vowed that she would not become a “Bachelorette.”
“I genuinely meant that,” she told the magazine. “I feel like the biggest hypocrite because I said that and now I’m doing it.”
The show will tape in Charlotte, N.C., where Maynard lives with her daughter Ricki. The show’s trademark exotic trips will be in the cards as well.
“She’s not going to be involved in a lot of filming and certainly not meeting the guys,” she said of her daughter. “But she’s really excited to go on vacation with Mommy.”
