“30 Rock” star Tracy Morgan continues to make headlines for all the wrong reasons.
The newest newsmaker? Reports state that Morgan’s mother is facing foreclosure and he won’t help her pay off the bank.
Morgan’s mother, Alicia Warden, is now going to the press with her mother-son issues. She told the New York Daily News that she lost her job a year ago and can no longer afford payments on her Ohio home, so she reached out to Morgan for help last month. She then received a call from a woman informing her that Morgan would offer her a “one-shot deal” of $2,000, although she owes less than $25,000 on her home.
Warden states that if she isn’t able to make a minimum payment by Feb. 23, the bank will begin foreclosure proceedings.
“I told her, ‘Thank you, but no thank you. I’m not some person in the street,” she said in the article. “That was the straw that broke the camel’s back.”
Morgan’s younger sister Asia told the paper that on top of the financial issues, his mother’s health is also fading.
“She has diabetes, and her legs are giving out on her,” she said. “This would be a drop in the bucket for Tracy. She has a son that can do, and she’s done everything that she possibly could for her family.”
His sister added that fame hasn’t helped their relationship.
“He’s never been a nice person,” said Asia Morgan of her brother. “And money’s just made it worse.”
