The Mowrys — twins Tia and Tamera and little brother Tahj are a part of one one of Hollywood’s most exclusive clubs: former child stars who have successfully made the difficult transition to adult actors. So it makes sense that they are now going to be a big part of the network that has become synonymous with former child stars: ABC Family Channel. Tahj Mowry, who was the star of “The Smart Guy” during the 1990s will now star as Tucker on the channel’s upcoming sit-com, “Baby Daddy.” The comedy, which also stars Chelsea Kane and Derek Theler is centered around the less than original premise of a young man who learns he is a father when his ex drops a baby on his doorstep.
Tahj’s older sister Tia (“The Game“) will star in ABC Family’s Christmas movie, “The Mistle-Tones“ about the battle between two rival groups of Christmas carolers to be crowned the best singers in town. The film will also feature Tori Spelling as Tia’s nemesis. Spelling’s character, Marci, is described as “barely talented,” so the odds are high that this project will feature a lot of meta jokes.
Tia’s twin Tamera, who starred with her on the longrunning teen sit-com “Sister Sister,” is not part of ABC Family’s upcoming line-up, but she did star in the channel’s 2009 comedy, “Roommates.” She and Tia also currently star on Style’s top-rated reality series “Tia and Tamera.”

In other news: ABC Family also announced that it is picking up a fifth season of “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” as well as a new reality series, “Beverly Hills Nannies.” As the title indicates, it will chronicle the lives of the people who take care of the children of the rich and famous. It will be produced by Evolution media, the company responsible for “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” indicating that it will be a glossy treatment of the subject matter, not a modern-day reality version of “The Help.”
