One of the things people forget about Patton Oswalt is that, despite his reputation as a fantastic stand-up comedian and someone who will star in quirky Adult Swim shows and movies like “Young Adult,” he was also the lovable loser Spence on “The King of Queens.” So it shouldn’t be strange to see him take a guest role on the most-watched sitcom on the air, “Two and a Half Men.”
According to EW, Oswalt will play the ex-business partner of Walden Schmidt (Ashton Kutcher), and EW quotes the show’s writers as saying that Oswalt will be the “Wozniak to Walden’s Jobs,” referring to Steve Wozniak, who started Apple with Steve Jobs. It makes sense; Walden was likely the visionary and the face and personality of the software company he started, and the character Oswalt plays was likely the techie. Should be funny to see the chemistry between Kutcher and Oswalt in this one.
Oswalt has been all over the small screen lately, by the way, with guest spots on “Bored to Death,” “Raising Hope” and “United States of Tara,” along with his work in the Adult Swim show “The Heart, She Holler.”
