Kristen Wiig played singer Lana Del Rey in a “Weekend Update” segment on “Saturday Night Live” that had the fake “Lana” addressing the real Lana’s critically lambasted performance on “SNL” last month.

It’s the segment that drew the lion’s share of attention in the aftermath of Saturday’s show, which was guest-hosted by Channing Tatum, with musical guest Bon Iver.

Our take on Kristen’s impersonation of Lana is that Kristen is emerging as such a versatile star on “SNL” that we figure it won’t be long before she outgrows the show and leaves for starring roles in movies and, probably, her own sitcom. In the sketch you’ll be given the opportunity to watch in about 10 seconds, she plays Lana in all her “stiff, distant, weird”-ness, an attitude the singer affected when she appeared on “SNL” on Jan. 14 and which drew cruel criticism afterward.

So, under questioning from “Weekend Update” anchor Seth Meyers, “Lana” answered her critics.

So how was Channing Tatum as an “SNL” guest-host? Well, you can see for yourself in a sketch in which he played a 1960s-era astronaut who was a guest celebrity on a ’60s game show. The other “celebrity” player was played by Kristen Wiig, who once again, stole the show.

The show opened with a timely sketch about current politics — a segment set a few years in the future as Newt Gingrich set about realizing his dream of establishing a colony on the moon.

Who doesn’t love Guy Fieri, and his high-energy, mouth-stuffing Food Network show “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives”? Well, probably not everyone — especially those who value old-fashioned table manners such as taking sensible bites and chewing with your mouth closed! However, love him or hate him, you have to laugh at Bobby Moynihan’s exuberant impression of “Guy,” who turned up on “Weekend Update” with some over-the-top serving suggestions for Super Bowl snack time.
