The Tuesday Buzz: Kimmel Gets People to Unplug Their TVs During the Super Bowl

If someone had unplugged our TV during a crucial moment of Sunday night’s Super Bowl, we don’t know what we would have done. Actually, thanks to Jimmy Kimmel, we’ve now got a good idea how we’d react. He asked viewers to unplug their TVs at some point during the game, record the reaction of their family and friends, and upload those videos to YouTube. He showed the best ones on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

The results aren’t pretty, but they’re as expected: Lots of yelling, name-calling, threats of violence and worse. Although we do appreciate how one viewer used the occasion to negotiate with her husband to finally take their Christmas tree down. Our other favorite? The fan getting bent out of shape when the TV went dark during Madonna’s halftime show.
