A recent story in The Hollywood Reporter that singer Gavin DeGraw could become the latest celebrity attached to “Dancing with the Stars” officially adds yet another name to the bi-annual guessing game of who will take part in the newest season of the ABC dance competition.
Now that we are two weeks away from the next unveiling of the celebrity and quasi-celebrity names, the media is on full alert to report every whisper about the show. In fact, USA Today ran a story today looking at the list of rumored contenders, and the cast could potentially range from NFL athletes (again) to a member of the Kardashian family (again). But there are some surprising and intriguing names in the mix as well.
The list of celebs mentioned in the story who might be hitting the dance floor include:
Musician and singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw
Online heavyweight Perez Hilton
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Vince Young
Newly diabetic cooking queen Paula Deen
Kardashian clan member Kylie/Kendall Jenner
“Jersey Shore” star JWoww
Political personalities Michele Bachman and Herman Cain
and of course, the great Regis Philbin.

Other names that have been mentioned range from comedians such as Pee-wee Herman and Carrot Top, blond icons Tori Spelling and Jenny McCarthy as well as the great Stevie Wonder.
“DWTS” staple Cheryl Burke told reporters that she wants New York Giants player Victor Cruz for the show, although he has denied being part of the cast. Tim Tebow was another player that kept tongues wagging, although that has been shot down as well.
Hollywood Life reports that producers are eyeballing E!’s own Giuliana Rancic for the season as well. Of course, we won’t hear it officially until Feb. 28 when ABC opens the vaults.
