Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are still mourning the loss of an unborn daughter, and consider her to be their 20th child, despite the fact that the baby was lost in a miscarriage 18 weeks into Michelle’s pregnancy eight weeks ago.
The couple — the patriarch and matriarch of TLC’s reality series “19 Kids and Counting” — appeared on NBC’s “Today Show” Tuesday morning. In an interview conducted by Ann Curry (above), they talked about the miscarriage and the new season of “19 Kids,” which starts tonight (Tuesday, Feb. 14) at 9/8c.
In fact, it wouldn’t surprise us to learn that, behind the scenes, the Duggars may have pushed to have the show’s title changed to “20 Kids and Counting” because the deeply religious couple believes that the unborn child, who they named Jubilee, is their 20th child, and that they will someday be reunited with her in heaven.
It’s an illuminating interview, and one that Jim Bob and Michelle conducted without their 19 kids, who usually travel with them for their “Today” show appearances in New York.
