Tareq Salahi just wants to move on with his life, according to recent interviews, he’s just going to try to grab a cool $50 million before the move.
Former “The Real Housewives of DC” couple Tareq and wife Michaele Salahi are back in the spotlight, again. After Michaele left him for Journey guitarist Neal Schon last September, Tareq has hit back, filing a $50 million lawsuit against the musician and his new lover, according to E!.
The lawsuit claims that the ex-couple had TV deals in place before the breakup, including a chance to participate in the Australian version of “Dancing with the Stars,” but after Michaele’s affair with the rocker went public, that offer was pulled off the table.
Tareq is also suing for conspiracy to defame and accuses the rocker of interfering with a contract, according to multiple reports. TMZ also reports Tareq claims that Schon went out of his way to humiliate him, including emailing Tareq a picture of his penis and then calling him on the phone to tell him, “I’m f**king your wife.”
Schon and Michaele both appeared in Journey’s new song “Resonate,” and recently were interviewed by “Access Hollywood” about their relationship and Tareq.
When asked on Tuesday why she didn’t tell her estranged husband that their relationship was over before abruptly leaving, Michaele told them that she just wanted to move on.
“Anyone that knows Tareq and myself, I’ve endured a lot and it was time,” she told Access. “There was no way to say goodbye and Tareq’s a very controlling person, so I wish him the best and I want him to let me move on with my life.”
For his part, Tareq defended himself against her accusations that he was a controlling husband.
“Look, when it comes to controlling, as she says, that I’m controlling, well, when it’s $4,000 for hair extensions versus the mortgage on the house, yeah, I’m gonna be controlling about, ‘Yeah, we’re gonna pay the house mortgage? OK?’ So I’ll own up to that,” Tareq told Access. “Look, when it comes down to keeping the house or paying for hair extensions, I choose the house.”
He also said that he wants their business to be kept private and out of the press.
“This is her M.O., but if she’s happy and she wants the best for me, then let’s get divorced so I can move on with my life instead of making a mockery of this divorce and making it so public. Most separated couples like to do this behind closed doors. She’s taking this a different direction.”
Of course, filing a $50 million lawsuit doesn’t help either.
Here’s a video of their happier days…
