And then there were two. After jetsetting to Switzerland and partaking in some “fantasy suite” time with his three remaining bachelorettes (Nicki, Lindzi and Courtney), Ben narrowed the field to two potential mates on last night’s episode of “The Bachelor.”

But before Ben could dish out his last roses, he received a surprise visit from a lovelorn Kacie B., who returned for closure and to issue a final warning about the much maligned Courtney.

Lamenting their break-up, which she “didn’t see coming at all,” Kacie told Ben that she’s still having trouble getting it out of her mind.

“For me, I kind felt like we were worlds apart,” Ben responded. “Did I see you in the end? No. And the last thing I wanted to do was drag it out longer for you. That was my way of protecting you.”

Kacie once again reiterated what she perceived as the dangers of Ben choosing Courtney. “I feel like if you were to choose Courtney you would get your heart broken,” she said. “She has made comments like, ‘If it’s not Ben, there are other fish in the sea.’ It makes me sick to think that you could be hurt again, if you pick her.”

Although the continued bashing of Courtney by the other women seems to have given Ben moments of pause throughout the season — including last night when he questioned whether he was getting “played” by the manipulative model – he nevertheless issued her a rose along with Lindzi, effectively eliminating Nicki.

“I cried a little bit today, I’m not gonna lie,” Ben confessed to Nicki as he bid her adieu. “But I started to have doubts.”

“I just hope you’re making the right decision,” a tearful Nicki responded, adding, “I fell in love with you, I don’t regret that. If anything, my fear is that you’ll be hurt one day and I hope that’s not the case. And I hope I’m proved wrong.”
