You can cross at least one name off the “X Factor” speculation list. There are two female judging spots open, and a male-female co-hosting gig up for grabs after multiple firings on the Simon Cowell singing competition.
Janet Jackson has said she isn’t interested in judging “The X Factor,” according to “The Insider.” Jackson was one of the names rumored for the gig, along with Britney Spears, Mariah Carey and Fergie.
She is “very flattered that ‘X Factor’ let me know that I was being considered for next season, but it just wouldn’t be possible,” Jackson told “The Insider.”
Jackson claims due to prior commitments, it would be “unrealistic” for her to take on a TV gig at this time.
But in the same report, Jackson’s handlers are quoted as saying there were never discussions between Janet and “The X Factor” in the first place.
“There have been absolutely no meetings between Janet and anyone with regard to X-Factor,” a rep for Jackson adds.
So she’s saying no thanks to a job she hasn’t been offered. Huh. That’s Hollywood for ya.
