Maybe it’s because Charlie Sheen is now someone else’s problem, or because Melissa McCarthy is on a roll after her Oscar nomination, but comedy mogul Chuck Lorre was in a good mood when William Keck of TV Guide encountered him the other day, and he gave the reporter some interesting details about the season finales of all three of his shows: “Two and a Half Men,” “The Big Bang Theory” and “Mike & Molly”.

“Men” fans will see a first: Evelyn (Holland Taylor), the hardened and slutty mother of Alan (Jon Cryer) will start a relationship with a woman, who just happens to be the mother of Alan’s girlfriend Lyndsey (Courtney Thorne Smith). The person playing Lyndsey’s mother is none other than “Mary Tyler Moore” show alum Georgia Engel, who played Ted Baxter’s sweet-voiced wife Georgette. “Chuck wants to show Evelyn experiencing real affection for the very first time,” Taylor told TV Guide.

There will be a wedding in the “Mike & Molly” season finale, of course: the title characters (played by McCarthy and Billy Gardell) will get hitched, as everyone would expect if they’ve watched this season. What’s not expected is where they get married in the Baptist church Grandma (Cleo King) goes to. Also Mike’s long-lost father will show up unexpectedly. No details on who is being cast in that role.

Finally, the “BBT” finale will also have a wedding as a component, though it’s more about Howard (Simon Helberg) facing a possible conflict between his wedding to Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) or his long-anticipated trip to the International Space Station. “One event may have to be rescheduled,” executive producer Bill Prady told the magazine. We bet that the choice will be made before the episode is over — Lorre does cliffhangers but not that often. But the big question is: Will Penny (Kaley Cuoco) and Leonard (Johnny Galecki) 2.0 continue at its careful pace or will those star-crossed kids break up again?
