James Denton is making the rounds after his character’s surprising death on “Desperate Housewives,” and he told the women of “The View” that he was OK with getting two more months than the rest of the cast to find his next role, he was concerned about how people see his on-screen mate Susan (Teri Hatcher) for the final six episodes of the series. He didn’t want to her to be seen as “doom and gloom,” but she seemed to be OK with how things may end up. He’ll be shown in flashbacks during next week’s episode, and that’ll be it for Mike Delfino… at least as far as we know.

Denton also told the hosts about the story he was supposed to tell at the Nicollette Sheridan wrongful termination trial, but he said he couldn’t get to it because there were constant objections while he was on the stand. The story demonstrates how physical creator Marc Cherry was with all his actors, not just Sheridan, and it involved a scene at a strip club where Cherry told Denton to “be more Bea Arthur.” When you hear the story, it’ll put an image in your head that will take a good long time to get out.
