UPDATE: The unnamed contestant turned out to be Jermaine Jones, who tweeted that he was departing the show. Jones was one of the bottom three vote-getters last week after singing Stevie Wonder’s “Knocks Me Off My Feet.”
A contestant on “American Idol” will be getting the boot from the show on Wednesday because the singer failed to reveal to producers that he/she had been charged with multiple crimes, according to TMZ.
The contestant’s name was not revealed in the report, but the site states that the performer, who is one of the final 12 on the show, was charged with two crimes last year, with one involving violence. The contestant apparently gave a fake name to cops when he/she was arrested.
In addition-yes, addition-this contestant also has outstanding warrants for their arrest and the singer once again did not notify producers of their legal difficulties.
According to the story, the performer was informed of the decision on camera today with footage of the confrontation now set to run on Wednesday’s show.
