Just days away from the season premiere of “Dancing with the Stars” and we have our first “scandal” of the season.

View” co-host and Season 14 contestant Sherri Shepherd denied a report that she broke the rules of the show by secretly practicing with her partner for months.

On “The View” Thursday, a “nervous” Shepherd batted down a story published on Radar Online that accused her of “cheating,” getting a head start over her competition by alleging that she has been dancing on the down low with her professional partner since early December.

According to Radar, an eyewitness says: “Sherri was spotted in early December going into the Soho Studio and Maks was there too … She had her dance shoes with her and was dressed in workout gear. I saw them dancing together.”

There are just a few problems with the allegations, Shepherd was quick to note.

First of all, Shepherd isn’t even paired with Maksim Chmerkovskiy this season (he’s hoofing it up with Melissa Gilbert). Sherri’s partner is named Val (who happens to be Maks’ little brother) and she says they never danced together before their pairing was announced.

“We have never danced together,” Sherri said emphatically. “I met Val socially.” “I never danced with Maks or Val,” she then clarified.

However, the talk-show host did admit to taking dance classes at Maks’ dance studio in preparation for the show.

“I’m 169 pounds, I’m diabetic and I’m pigeon-toed,” Shepherd said in her defense. “You all don’t want me falling on that dance floor.”

The season premiere of “Dancing with the Stars” airs Monday, March 19, at 8/7c on ABC.
