‘Revenge’ Cast Reveal Their Favorite Scenes

Emily VanCamp and Madeleine Stowe on Revenge (ABC)

The lengthy “Revenge” hiatus is so tortuous that Emily Thorne would deem it cruel and unusual punishment. Fans had just learned that it was Emily’s sensei, Takeda, who killed Tyler, though it was Daniel who was arrested, denied bail, and sent to Rikers Island. Now, viewers are forced to wait another month to find out what happened next.

To satiate your thirst, the cast has given us an inside look at their favorite scenes thus far in Season 1. Watch them and treat yourself to a mini-“Revenge” marathon. If that’s still not enough, XfinityTV.com has every single episode in its entirety for you to catch up o. We’re doing our part to help you get through our national nightmare.

Emily Van Camp (Emily)

Favorite: There’s a scene, we actually reshot it, where I break the infinity box. We shot it initially and I remember telling [creator] Mike Kelley, “I just feel it needs something different.” Sometimes things just don’t quite come together the way you want them to. And he’s just amazing and he allowed me to reshoot it. We just gave it a whole different spin and made it more physical. Takeda was a big part of that. And just bringing this very special thing to her in this moment of crisis was a lot of fun to do. Hiro [Sanada] was amazing, to do these fight sequences with him. I just love all that stuff. Madeline Stowe (Victoria)

Favorite: The scene at the beach with the murder at the end of episode 15 when she thinks that Daniel is dead and then she sees that he’s there and then she says, “Don’t say a word.” It kind of is everything. It’s a really kind of cunning, interesting piece of writing. (Watch the scene below.)

Nick Weschler (Jack)

Favorite: The scene when I confessed my feelings to Emily and she shoots me down. She’s just so good. It was one of the only times I didn’t hate my own performance. It’s hard to explain, but somehow I just found the right emotional place where I wasn’t judging myself like I usually am when I’m acting. I felt good. I felt like I trusted her to not be judging me and I was able to sort of hold it in this emotional place that felt true to myself. It was one of the only thing I did where I felt, “That actually kind of moved me.”… Generally, if you ask people, “What do you like about Jack?”  They’re going to list a bunch of stuff that’s like on paper stuff: he’s working class, and he’s a handyman, and he’s sensitive, and he works on a boat, and he named the boat after her, and he has this dog that used to be hers, and he still carries this torch for her. That’s all by design. They wouldn’t list many things that have anything to do with my performance, my portrayal. That was one moment where I thought my performance had something to do with how people felt. I just think it had more effect than my performance usually does. (Watch the scene below.)

Henry Czerny (Conrad)

Favorite: One of my favorite scenes was the scene between Daniel and Conrad where Daniel (Josh Bowman) comes to him to announce his engagement. Conrad was feeling very defensive about the whole thing because of what he’s just learned. He exposes a side of himself that he wishes he could expose more often and share more often but doesn’t. So I love the arc of that scene. (Watch the scene below.)

Christa B. Allen (Charlotte)

Favorite: I loved doing that scene with Emily on the porch on the swing. There was just so much to play because there’s not only their relationship and that dynamic but Charlotte’s on pills and it’s all very dark but she’s trying to gloss over it. (Watch the scene below.)

Connor Paolo (Declan)

Favorite: The scene Nick and I had about the hoodie and just kind of saying I’m here for you, I love you. I’m always proud of the stuff that I’m able to do with Nick just because I like our paternal relationship and I think he’s a phenomenal actor so I’m always proud of the work that he pushes me to do.
