‘Once Upon A Time’ Cast Reveal Their Favorite Scenes

Lana Parilla on Once Upon a Time (ABC)

Once Upon A Time” is one of the fall season’s break-out hits. Each episode parallels the goings on in the cursed town of Storybrooke, with the fairytale lives of the characters alter egos. Fans love the starcrossed romance of Snow White and Prince Charming, and the ruthless Evil Queen’s despicable acts.

The cast recently revealed that “Once” is the toughest job they’ve ever loved, requiring 3 a.m. shoots on a regular basis. They shared which of the numerous complicated scenes were their favorites.

Robert Carlyle (Rumpelstiltskin/Mr. Gold)

Favorite: Everything is contained within Skin Deep. I love the scene in the cell with Regina when she comes in to talk. I really genuinely can’t pick a Rumpelstiltskin scene from Skin Deep because, in my opinion, that’s 42 minutes of TV that’s as good as it gets. I think it’s among the best things I’ve been involved in. (Watch the scene below.)

Josh Dallas (Prince Charming/David)

Favorite: I loved where we had the Siren and the underwater scene. It was amazing to shoot. But in terms of the juxtaposition that Charming was put in, where he’s being called by this Siren who transforms herself into his ideal, into Snow White. So he’s drawn into that, and as he changes, he figures it out that it’s someone who’s drawing him to his death. We shot that over a day, actually. We had these huge water tanks on set and we were down fourteen feet in the water with breathing tanks on. That was fun. For me playing David has changed over the past couple months. Playing David was hard because he was in such a confusing place. He keeps doing the wrong thing. He gives Mary Margaret the wrong valentine. He just can’t man up the way that Charming can do. But now I’m kind of embracing that and I love the differences between the two characters and I love the fact that somewhere in all that, Charming is fighting to get out of David. It makes him more human and more honest. (Watch the scene below.)

Jennifer Morrison (Emma)

Favorite: I would lean toward that last scene with Sheriff Graham. Not only was I kissing one of the hottest men on the planet, which, you know, was okay, but it was really such a huge turning point for Emma as a person. It was an incredibly vulnerable place she went. She really allowed herself to love someone romantically, even though it was for a brief moment for the first time in her life. Normally that happens when you’re about thirteen [years old]. For Emma it didn’t happen until she was twenty-eight and under crazy circumstances. I think that turning point for her was really fun to figure out as an actor and experience… And then there was the kissing. (Watch the scene below.)

Lana Parrilla (Wicked Queen/Regina)

Favorite: There’s been a lot of fun scenes. Some has been riding horses. That’s been kind of fun. It satisfied the little girl in me. One fun scene, I was working with Robert, but it was the experience I not only had with him, but a freedom in my body and the action. That was a nice growing experience for me. I did a scene with him where there was just a lot of play. I loved some of the Hansel and Gretal scenes. Playing with the kids, and working with these kids, it’s fun for the queen. She’s very different with kids than she is with the adults. (Watch the scene below.)
