On “The Talk” today, Billy Campbell sat at the table with the hosts — all dressed as their favorite characters from “The Hunger Games” — and talked about how he managed to get the role as the politician/suspect/potentially dead Darren Richmond in AMC’s “The Killing.”
Apparently, Campbell was about to take a sabbatical of sorts: “I hadn’t had a job in awhile, and the universe was telling me that I gotta go sailing.” When he got on the plane to Vancouver, with the plans of handing over his apartment to Colin Ferguson of “Eureka”, he encountered a director for “The Killing,” which was being cast at the time. The rest is basic cable history, as the clip shows.
“The Killing” returns for its second season on AMC on Sunday at 8 pm Eastern.
