Zooey Deschanel stopped by “Jimmy Kimmel Live” to promote “New Girl,” and she was her usual adorable self, joking how she’s the “mother” of all the Zooeys (and Zoeys and Zoes) out there now and how much she has in common with her fellow guest, Steven Seagal. But Jimmy Kimmel was curious about how she and her sister Emily Deschanel, who is the star of another FOX show, “Bones,” got along as kids.
According to Zooey, it was a bit trying, mainly because Emily was four years older and knew how to torture her innocent little sister. For instance, she pretended to be from Neptune, which for some reason was a scary planet to toddler Zooey, and it didn’t seem like her parents’ intervention gave her any peace of mind. Of course, older sibling cruelty led to younger sister quirkiness, so maybe we should thank Emily for helping make Zooey into what she is today.
