Will Ferrell (aka Ron Burgundy, San Diego’s top-rated newsman) made an in-character stop on Wednesday’s edition of “Conan,” where he played a little flute, gave Conan O’Brien some advice and announced that the sequel to the 2004 comedy “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy” is officially underway.

After telling O’Brien and Andy Richter how much how loved their show, he had some words of wisdom for O’Brien that only Ron Burgundy could offer.

“I’ve got one small criticism, and it’s probably something only a professional like me would notice, but Conan you look awful!”

O’Brien feigned shock at the statement.

“You look like someone put a bright, red fright wig on a skeleton and chucked it out of a helicopter,” Ferrell said before continuing, “I’m being kind right now! Let me give you some words of advice. Fire your hair lady, fire your makeup lady, fire your gay wardrobe man and just go under the knife. Go into your doctor’s office and point at your face and say ‘Doc, it’s a page one rewrite.'”

But then came the news.

“I want to make an announce this to everyone here in the Americas, to our friends in Spain, Turkey and the U.K., including England, that as of 0900 mountain time, Paramount Pictures and myself, Ronald Joseph Aaron Burgundy have come to terms on a sequel to ‘Anchorman,'” said Ferrell. reports that movie co-stars Steve Carell, Paul Rudd and David Koechner will return to the movie as well.
