Surprisingly, Debbie Gibson‘s appearance on “The Tonight Show” last night was her first time on the program, something that shocked even Jay Leno. Apparently during her teen pop days, Debbie was steered towards the show hosted by her “Celebrity Apprentice” co-star Arsenio Hall instead of towards Jay’s predecessor Johnny Carson. Go figure.
Anyway, Debbie talked about her “Apprentice” adventures, of course; she was mainly surprised that Aubrey O’Day was still saying catty things about her even after she thought they had become friends. But Jay seemed to spend the most time on Gibson’s “wardrobe malfunction” during the Medieval Times task, when she supposedly gave the audience more of a show than they bargained for.
She claims that she wore boy shorts under her wenchy frock, but the producer’s strategic pixelation led to even her mom sending her suggestive text messages. Oh, and she uses a term for “tweeting” that seemed to come straight from the mouth of Kathy Griffin rather than America’s Sweetheart of 1988, but you have to remember that Debbie still has a lot of Long Island in her.
