When you see Tracy Morgan on the list of late night guests, you have a pretty good idea that he’s going to do something or say something that will go viral. And, while he was relatively subdued during his appearance on the “Late Show” last night, he still said more than enough to make David Letterman both laugh and scratch his head.

Morgan talked about how he and his “30 Rock” co-star Alec Baldwin are always in the news in some way; for instance, Morgan collapsed and was rushed to the hospital at the Sundance film festival shortly after Baldwin’s Words With Friends airline incident. Morgan claims that after he got back to the set, he went to his buddy Alec and said “top that!”

But Morgan wonders why he had so much trouble in the thin air of Utah to begin with, considering that he should have been used to it because of the rarefied air he occupies because he’s such a big star. This is when Dave laughed in the way that most hosts do when Tracy goes off on one of his nonsensical but funny tangents; it’s a laugh that says “I don’t know where he’s going with this, but I’m sure it’ll be a riot.”
