Fox’s Tuesday night comedy block is safe for another year.
“Over the past season, ‘New Girl’ has become the hottest new appointment series for young adults; ‘Raising Hope’ has established itself as one of the smartest and most unique offbeat comedies on television; and ‘Glee’ has continued its success as a genre-defying, global cultural phenomenon,” said Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly in a statement. “All three of these comedies add a fresh and distinctive flavor to our Tuesday nights, and I’m really happy to bring them back to our air next season.”
The pick-ups mean a second season for Zooey Deschanel’s “New Girl,” a third season for “Raising Hope” and a fourth for “Glee.” They join the previously announced renewal of “Bones.” There was no mention of any decisions on the fates of “Fringe,” “Alcatraz,” or “Bones” spin-off, “The Finder.”
Perched even higher on the chopping block are the freshman comedy “I Hate My Teenage Daughter,” which was recently shuffled and then shelved for summer (a sign that it’s as good as dead), and the already once canceled sitcom “Breaking In,” which has been a dud the second time around too.
The spring premiere of “Glee” airs tomorrow at 8/7c on Fox and guest stars “White Collar’s” Matt Bomer as Blaine’s “Big Brother” — Watch a Sneak Peek Here. This Tuesday also features the first episode of the two-part season finale of “Raising Hope.”
