Donald Trump didn’t pull any strings to keep “A Class Act” from being fired on Sunday night’s puppet show episode of “Celebrity Apprentice.”
Lisa Lampanelli was not this week’s evictee, despite bawling in the board room and clearly at her breaking point in her rage (and jealousy?) at teammate beauty queen Dayana Mendoza, who also shed tears in this episode thanks to Lampanelli’s mean-girl tactics. Taking on the role of project manager, the bitter comedian showed her funny side, for once, during a puppet show that also featured the surprisingly versatile and entertaining Clay Aiken, marking Lampanelli’s first win as PM.
On the other side of the table, Paul Teutul Sr. was not exactly the puppet master as project manager. The gruff reality star took a back seat in the task after hurting his back and couldn’t have appeared any more bored or disinterested in the fluffy challenge. Trump called him out on that, and for bringing Aubrey back to the board room with Teresa instead of Arsenio. With that, “Paul, you’re fired!”
“It’s been an honor,” Paul Sr. said as he was let go, to which Trump replied somewhat shockingly, “for me too,” added by, “he will be missed.”
While the respectful, polite exchanges were a nice change of pace from the usual back-stabbing on “The Apprentice,” it’s also a bit perplexing that Trump (as well as daughter Ivanka, who earlier in the episode, professed her deep respect for Paul, while Aubrey declared him a “class act” as he departed) is so honored to know the dude from “American Chopper.”
Check out the butt-kissing exchange from Paul Sr.’s firing in the clip above.
