American Idol” will pay homage to Dick Clark tonight. Ryan Seacrest made the announcement on Twitter today, writing: “we’re putting together a tribute for Dick Clark on @AmericanIdol tonight…just talked to @dizzyfeet [‘Idol’ executive producer Nigel Lythgoe].” The “American Bandstand” host died of a heart attack yesterday at the age of 82. Seacrest acknowledged the loss of his friend and mentor on last night’s “Idol.” “Without Dick, a show like this would not exist,” Seacrest said at the top of the show. “He will be missed greatly.”
