William Petersen is heading back to TV.

No, not in a valiant return to “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” but as the star of an upcoming series on Cinemax called “Hurt People,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Two years after leaving the hit CBS show, Petersen will now star in the pilot as Hollis Brown, “a longtime hitman employed by the crime family that killed his wife who has been brought in to hunt down his estranged daughter, who is intent on destroying those responsible for her mother’s death,” according to the article.

“Hurt People” would subsequently mark Petersen’s first starring role since “CSI” and also marks the Cinemax’s push into developing scripted programming.
