If there’s one thing Jennie Garth has learned through her recent split from ex-husband Peter Facinelli, it’s strength.
While promoting her new CMT reality series “Jennie Garth: A Little Bit Country” (Friday, April 20, 9/8c) on “Ellen” Friday, Garth opened up about the difficulties of coming to terms with the end of her 11 year relationship. “At first, I wasn’t sure how I was going to make it through, but I really learned that I am so much stronger than I thought I was,” she admitted.
Garth and Facinelli are parents to daughters Luca, 14, Lola, 9, and Fiona, 5. “We’re still so committed to being there for our girls,” she said. “That’s the most important thing for us.”
Garth said discussing her break-up with the press while out promoting her CMT show has been incredibly tough. “It’s not something I’m dying to talk about, but it’s something that’s going on in my life. I’m not ashamed to talk about it,” the former “90210” star confessed. “I think by being open and honest with what I’m going through, maybe it helps somebody else. I know, I’ve heard from a lot of people that it helps them, maybe with what they’re going through. I’m not afraid to talk about it.”
Facinelli filed for divorce from Garth on March 28, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
In “Jennie Garth: A Little Bit Country,” Garth moves her family to a seven-acre Central California farm in order to get back to basics. The series premiere airs Friday, April 20 at 9/8c on CMT. Watch her interview with Ellen below.
