Say it isn’t so, Alex!
Longtime television staple Alex Trebek is mulling a retirement from popular syndicated game show “Jeopardy!”
Trebek, who is 71 and has been the face of the game show since 1984, was interviewed on a segment of “Fox News Sunday With Chris Wallace,” where he discussed his future on the show.
“Yes, I have been thinking of retiring,” he told Wallace in an interview that will run on the channel on Sun., May 6. “But I’m torn because I enjoy doing the show so much. A lot of people have been telling me — ‘Alex, you’ve got to go for at least 30. You’ve just done 28. Now at least do two more.’ So that has a nice ring to it. Put in your 30. And go help people.”
“Jeopardy!” was created by Merv Griffin and has now run for 28 seasons, with 6,000 shows under its belt.
