We’re almost down to the wire on “Celebrity Apprentice” as the five remaining contestants were cut down to the final three on Sunday’s episode with an unexpected elimination.

This week’s task had the teams primping and pimping out the virtues of a hair dryer for an Elle magazine ad that once again brought out these models of bad behavior as Teresa Giudice and Lisa Lampanelli fought over model castings, while Aubrey O’Day made sure her pretty little self was the star of the challenge.

Teresa let the red-head walk all over her and was rightly the first one fired by Donald Trump.

Then last season’s final two, John Rich and Marlee Matlin, got a chance to grill the final four and report their findings to The Don, who made a startling decision when he told Lisa Lampanelli, “You’re Fired!” And in another total shocker, Lisa took the surprise elimination with total grace and didn’t even cause a scene!

Many thought the venomous comedian was headed for the final two (along with favorite Clay Aiken), since she was arguably this season’s strongest player, and meanest, who was also surprisingly prone to tearful meltdowns. And that’s what ultimately did her in after Trump deemed her too emotional to be The Apprentice.

Trump then revealed a third person was about to be fired … before pulling a fast one that surely irked viewers when these words flashed across the screen: “To Be Continued.”

So we’ll have to wait and see who else loses their head in the first ten minutes of next week’s episode.

“Celebrity Apprentice” airs Sunday nights at 9/8c on NBC.
