Ellen fans will be dancing in the aisles when Johnny Depp makes his first appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” today to promote his new movie, “Dark Shadows,” but the heartthrob won’t be joining them.

“I fear it more than anything in the world,” Depp says when Ellen asked him why he refused to dance along with his “Dark Shadows” costars Michelle Pfeiffer and Chloe Grace Moretz, who did dance as they made their intro.

In fact, Johnny says he has “never” danced in his life. “Ever.”

“That’s just sad,” Ellen replied.

“I’d rather swallow a bag of hair,” said Depp.

Among the other intriguing revelations to come from the interview, Depp admits his wacky Willy Wonka character was based on his interpretation of an incredibly stoned George Bush. See the clip below for Depp’s inspirations for some of his other famous characters, like Edward Scissorhands

“Dark Shadows” is a decidedly lighter take on the sixties supernatural soap opera and stars Depp (in yet another Tim Burton film) as 18th century vampire Barnabas Collins, who emerges from his coffin in 1972 and finds that times have indeed changed. It opens in theaters this Friday. Check out the trailer below.
