Despite its troubles, both with audiences and behind-the-scenes, comedy series “Community” is returning for a fourth season.
The series, from Sony Pictures Television, received a 13-episode order for the 2012-13 television season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“Community” brings a group of hardcore fans to the table, and when the show was left off NBC’s midseason schedule, fans panicked before the network opted to bring it back in March.
In addition, show creator Dan Harmon’s public feud with Chevy Chase grabbed headlines for several weeks when the pair began bashing each other both in public and privately.
However, the cast seemed to be in better spirits with the news of the pickup. Series star Joel McHale tweeted his appreciation for the announcement.
“Dear #Community fans, You are the best people in the world. We’re renewed for 13 eps. Couldn’t have done it without you.” he wrote.
