While we wait to find out if Katie Couric will be the new queen of daytime, the soon-to-be talk-show host has scored a royal coup: landing rare interviews with Prince William and Prince Harry.

The popular princes will discuss their grandmother Queen Elizabeth II to mark her Diamond Jubilee, a historic 60-year reign, for an ABC special airing May 29.

Couric will have “unprecedented access” for the tribute called “The Real Queen: By Her Own Royal Family With Katie Couric,” for which she’ll also speak with Wills and Harry’s cousins, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, and the girls’ father, Prince Andrew, as well as members of the queen’s staff (who are also rarely seen).

Meanwhile, Couric’s new talk show, “Katie,” debuts in September on ABC.
