Bravo to Dan Rather for being game for Andy Cohen’s late-night antics on “Watch What Happens Live.”

Yes, you read that right. The legendary newsman was a guest on the Bravo show Wednesday night, and if you’re wondering how the hell Cohen pulled off that guest booking, we’ll point out that Cohen once worked at CBS News during Rather’s anchoring era.

The huge “get” was parlayed into wacky fun with his disjointed pairing with second guest, singer John Mayer. While the highlight of Mayer’s appearance amounted to the obsession with his long hair and mountain man hat, he did forcibly confess to his celebrity man crush (watch the clip below).

But the Rather good stuff happened when Cohen played a lightening round of word associations with the veteran journalist, who’s “interviewed every important person on the planet,” according to the gushing Bravo exec.

Watch the clip above for Rather’s one-word impressions (and often more, because Dan Rather is famously descriptive) of some of the world’s most notable figures, including Obama, Saddam Hussein, Nixon, George W. Bush, JFK … and Dolly Parton (“flat-chested”).

Before capping off the show with a “shotski” of Bourbon, Rather also reveals the most impressive person he’s ever met in his more than 60 years in journalism, and even plays the nightly segment “Plead the Fifth!” where he’s forced to answer who he thinks was the worst U.S. President ever. See His Answer Below.
