MTV Making a ‘Scream’ TV Series

Another horror movie will soon be terrorizing TV.

MTV is developing a weekly television series based on the “Scream” film franchise, according to TV Line.

Still in the early stages, the project is coming from former MTV execs Tony DiSanto and Liz Gateley, the pair behind “Laguna Beach” and “Teen Mom,” who are currently searching for a writer to pen the pilot script.

There’s no word on if the original movie “Scream” team of Kevin Williamson and Wes Craven, will be involved in the series in some way.

MTV previously had success in the movie-to-TV biz in reviving Michael J. Fox’s “Teen Wolf” for the small screen last year.

In late May, it was announced that “The Exorcist” is being remade into a miniseries.
