UPDATE: Roberto Martinez may not be handing out roses … yet. Martinez is in the running to be the next “Bachelor” but an official decision won’t be made until the end of summer, clarifies E!.
Meanwhile, a source tells Us Weekly, “They are asking him to be the next bachelor, but he has no interest as of right now.”
ABC appears to be recycling its love connections again.
“They chose him because he’s very likable,” a production insider tells the mag. “He’s already signed the contract.”
Martinez, a 29-year-old insurance agent, won the sixth season of “The Bachelorette” in 2010, stealing Ali Fedotowsky’s heart and the final rose.
But their love story turned into a grim fairytale, as TV romances so often do, when the couple called off their engagement after 18 months.
