Amber Portwood reveals she attempted suicide for a second time during a jailhouse interview with “Good Morning America,” where she also explains why she chose to quit her court-ordered rehab to instead serve jail time.

The “Teen Mom” star was sentenced to five years in prison this week, stemming from a December arrest for using illegal prescription drugs.

“I felt like I’d rather do my time and get it over with and make the best out of the situation that’s been handed to me,” Portwood, 22, said of her unbelievable decision to give up on her drug rehabilitation program after three months.

“I was very depressed,” she said. “I was alone. I was bitter at everybody. And I didn’t feel like that was the life I wanted to live.”

The struggling 22-year-old Indiana native reveals she recently tried to overdose on pills.

“I took 30 Suboxone within three days,” Portwood admits ABC News (it’s a drug that typically treats opioid addiction). “I had more than addiction problems,’ she added. “I had, you know, mental problems, too.”

Portwood, who appeared on both of MTV’s teen pregnancy reality shows, “16 and Pregnant” and “Teen Mom,” previously tried to kill herself last year.

Amber’s daughter Leah, 3, remains in the custody of her father Gary Shirley, Portwood’s ex, with whom she’s had a destructive relationship. Amber added things began to go “downhill” when Leah was taken away from her in 2011.

The MTV star added that she hope jail will offer her “a fresh start,” and says she plans to take substance abuse classes and pursue her GED.
