NBA star Metta World Peace (formerly known as Ron Artest) is taking a shot at showbiz.

The Los Angeles Laker will make his acting debut in “The Eleventh Victim,” a TV movie adaptation of Nancy Grace’s first novel that will air this fall on Lifetime, TV Guide reports.

He will play Garlan Fincher, a Georgia detective who works closely with the Nancy Grace character, Atlanta ADA Hailey Dean, played by Jennie Garth.

The detective character “is very dear to my heart,” says Grace, who’s one of the film’s executive producers, who adds, “I wanted to cast someone for whom I have a true fondness. Metta World Peace was my first pick.”

In case you’re perplexed as to how or why Nancy Grace is so fond of Metta World Peace, it’s because the two appeared together on Season 13 of “Dancing with the Stars,” where the Peace man was the first eliminated celebrity.

So let’s his acting is better than his dancing.
