UPDATE: Kate Walsh confirmed Season 6 of “Private Practice” will be her last during an interview Wednesday on the new talk show “Bethenny.”

“This is my last season for Private Practice,” Walsh, 44, told Bethenny Frankel. “It’s been an incredible journey and amazing ride. I’m hugely, hugely grateful.”

Maybe Kate Walsh doesn’t want to “Practice” without her hunky costar.

Private Practice” is suddenly facing another major departure. One day after Tim Daly announced he was effectively let go from the show and wouldn’t be returning next season comes news that the medical drama’s leading lady is plotting her exit as well.

Walsh plans to leave the show at the end of next season, Deadline is reporting. Her contract was up at the end of last season and there has been speculation that Walsh is ready to move on. But after some reportedly “intense” negotiations, Deadline says the actress has agreed to return — but would only commit to one more shortened season.

The “Grey’s Anatomy” spinoff from Shonda Rhimes was recently granted an eleventh-hour renewal by ABC for a sixth season consisting of 13 episodes.

Walsh’s character Dr. Addison Montgomery debuted on “Grey’s” seven years ago as McDreamy’s ex-wife, before leaving Seattle Grace a year later for her own “Private Practice” in L.A., where she’s led the ensemble cast that includes Amy Brenneman, Paul Adelstein, Benjamin Bratt and Taye Diggs.

There’s no word on whether or not the show will go on beyond Season 6 without Walsh and Daly, both major characters and original cast members, but it seems unlikely.
