The letter of the day is “M” … for MOVIE.

A “Sesame Street” movie is in the works, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

20th Century Fox Studio has acquired the film rights to the beloved children’s show, which has won 138 Emmys since it debuted in 1969. It will be the “Street’s” third adaptation for the big screen.

Director Shawn Levy (“Night at the Museum,” “Date Night”) will produce the “Sesame” feature film, backed by Fox, and “Sesame Street” writer Joey Mazzarino will write the script. The Sesame Workshop, the company behind the educational program that airs mostly on PBS stations, will likely be involved in the production as well, says THR.

Now, we wonder which stars will get top-billing? Big Bird, Bert and Ernie, Cookie Monster or Elmo? That’s some A-list talent!
