Alec Baldwin has nothing to hide. The “30 Rock” star, who’s been in hot water recently for allegedly punching a New York Daily News photographer, took to the “Late Show” Wednesday night to assert his innocence. After denying that blows were exchanged, Baldwin placed the blame for the fracas squarely on the paparazzi stationed outside of the New York City Marriage License Bureau, where the incident reportedly occurred. “They want you to react,” he told Letterman. “They want you to take a punch or push them or something.”
In response, Letterman procured a copy of the Daily News featuring a photo of Baldwin lashing out at the shutterbug with the caption, “Baldwin Goes Berserk.” “The picture, without knowing the story, tells a tale that’s not often true,” Dave said. “I think you can see, I’m forming the letter ‘F’ with my mouth, and what I’m saying is — I said to him as I walked up to him, ‘What F-stop are you on with the camera?’ ” Baldwin joked (see video below).
Attempting to diffuse the situation, the Emmy-winning actor demonstrated his dramatic weight loss by dropping his pants to cheers from the audience.
