Bristol Palin’s new reality show got tripped up in the ratings.
Tuesday’s series premiere of “Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp”
drew just 726,000 viewers and a 0.2 rating in the adults 18-49 demo.
The Lifetime series also lost a significant number of viewers from its lead-in, “Dance Moms,” which had 1.85 million viewers and a 0.8 in the 18-49 demo. By comparison, Bristol’s mother’s TLC reality show, “Sarah Palin’s Alaska,” pulled in 4.96 million viewers for its premiere in 2010, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
That’s bad news for the show, which is facing just as much drama off screen as on.
Palin’s former “DWTS” costar Kyle Massey is suing the show’s producers, alleging that he and his brother Chris Massey created the show for Bristol and were then cut out of it.
While Palin is not named in the Massey brothers’ suit, she herself is being sued, along with Lifetime, for defamation in another lawsuit filed by a bar heckler who engages in a shouting match with Bristol in an episode of the show.
