Here’s another reason why “The Good Wife” will be better than ever next season.
Maura Tierney is joining the Season 4 cast of the juicy CBS legal drama in a recurring role.
Tierney will play “a self-made millionaire who has become the doyenne of Chicago Democratic politics.”
In addition, British actor Marc Warren (“Hustle,” “Mad Dog”) is also joining the show in recurring role, playing Kalinda’s “manipulative ex-husband, to whom she has an attraction that she finds impossible to ignore.”
Both actors will make their first appearances on “The Good Wife’s” season premiere in September.
Tierney’s casting reunites her with fellow “ER” alum, “Good Wife” star Julianna Margulies. Tierney’s Nurse Abby Lockhart was hired to fill the void left in Season 6 when Margulies’ Nurse Carol Hathaway left the hospital for her happily-ever-after with Doug Ross (George Clooney).
Since leaving “ER” in 2009 and successfully battling breast cancer, Tierney has appeared on ABC’s quickly canceled “The Whole Truth,” FX’s “Rescue Me” and a guest stint on “The Office” as James Spader’s wife.
