With 49 acts vying for one prize, it’s inevitable that some eliminations would take place en masse if “America’s Got Talent” is to finish its season by early fall, when the regular season begins.
This week, eight acts were eliminated — eight out of the 12 who performed on Monday night’s show eliminated on Tuesday’s results show.

On the other hand, more than 9.2 million tuned in, according to Nielsen — making “AGT” the highest-rated show on television on Tuesday night.
That’s not bad for a Tuesday night in July.
